Welcome to 2019 Wilton Girls Youth Lacrosse

The goal of the Wilton Lacrosse Association (WLA) is to foster passion for the sport of Lacrosse in Wilton’s youth.  Wilton has one of the oldest and most storied youth lacrosse programs in Connecticut.  As a town we take pride in the sport, our athletes, and the tradition and legacy we've built over many years.
The WLA strives to create a nurturing and positive environment where children can learn the sport and excel based upon their skill level and commitment to pursuing higher levels of play if interested.  Towards this goal, the WLA Girls Youth Lacrosse Committee will offer three different types of girls youth lacrosse programs; Intramurals for grade 1-2, House League for grades 3-4 and Travel for grades 5-8.  Please be sure to read the program descriptions under the "Girls Youth" menu tab above.
For planning purposes please review both the summary information below, as well as the respective program descriptions located under the "Girls Youth" menu of the website.  There you will find additional information on the various programs including dates, frequency of programming and breaks and holiday information.

Players must furnish their own stick, regulation eye goggles, colored mouth guards (2), and cleats.  Players without eye goggles and mouth guards will be strictly prohibited from playing.  There are no exceptions to this safety rule.  No jewelry (including pierced ear studs) is allowed.

All Wilton Lacrosse participants are insured through US Lacrosse and must abide by USWLA Youth Rules of play.

The Wilton Lacrosse Association is pleased to sponsor these programs for Wilton youth girls.  The programs are run almost entirely on a volunteer basis.  Please consider volunteering.  Contact Brian Dobson at for more information.

Important Player Segmentation Announcement:

At its September 27, 2016 meeting, the CONNY Board of Directors adopted a new player segmentation policy for all member programs which includes Wilton Youth Lacrosse.  The change was driven by US Lacrosse age-based guidelines and their goal of increasing fairness and player safety.  The CONNY policy, which is grade-based with a firm oldest age cutoff for each grade, is a modified version of the USL recommendation. The CONNY committee felt this configuration would encourage participation and better ensure fairness and safety.

For players in grades 5-7, the age cutoff will be September 1st of the year preceding the season.  Those born before September 1st will automatically play up one grade. Players who are "young in grade" (i.e., are younger than their grade's birthday span) have the option of either staying with their grade or playing down in grade.

The cutoff for 8th grade was moved back to March 1st of the year preceding the season, which results in an 18-month age span. Those 8th graders born before the cutoff date can petition CONNY to be allowed to play with an 8th grade team.

For players in grades K-4, CONNY will not enforce an age cutoff.  There is strong consensus for keeping these grades to a traditional intro to lacrosse model.
